Upcoming Classes, and presentations, you won’t want to miss!
Be sure to RSVP for any events you are interested in attending. See below for contact information for each event. There is a lot of talent and preparation to make these events fun and informative and space is limited.

Every Saturday, Sunday (And More)
Seattle Can Can Classes have become very popular and many additional classes have been added throughout the week, including how to make your own hot sauce, Oils, Vinegars & Syrups. Go to Seattle Can Can! for additional information.

Learn the methods and secrets of home canning and get the approved USDA "Encyclopedia" of Home Canning, all in one stop. Vickie is on hand every Saturday & Sunday, and now other times throughout the week, to help beginners get started on the right foot as well as offering fresh ideas for experienced canners. Pre-registration is required.

Save money, eat healthy, know the source of your food and get it just the way you like it. If you have a kitchen, you can preserve fruits and vegetables in large batches or small! You can even "put up a batch" while cooking dinner--very little extra time is required and no extra equipment.

The weekly classes will be tailored to the attendee’s skill levels and whatever fruits and vegetables are in season and will feature a "Just Can It!" worksheet so the attendees can go home and put into practice the skills taught in the class.

Classes are $20.00, (Fancy Pantry & Introductory to Pressure Canning Classes are $40 each), payable by the beginning of class. Scholarships are available. Handouts and some materials are included. Every class member receives a coupon for 10% off canning supplies at Goods for the Planet. We are well stocked with a wide variety of supplies. Coupon offer valid for all visits within 7 days of class to give you time to go home and make a list of needs. Sign up for class through Seattle Can Can! webpage or by email to Vic.Phelps@Gmail.com. Email Vickie if you have questions about the class.

Sew Up Seattle Sewing Class

October ~ Leg Warmers
November ~ Finish up projects (UFO's)
No December Class

Sew up Seattle has lots of trims to embellish what you have or what you might make. There's also the option to start your sewing experience with a small pillow or bag, or get help on your own project. You can also buy fabric scraps for your projects from Goods for the Planet. Fabric comes from Sew-Up-Seattle and proceeds benefit their cause.

Guys, gals, beginners and experienced all are welcome to come sew. If you are coming, or for further information, please Email Sew up Seattle at sewupseattle@yahoo.com or call 206-784-7117. Let them know if you would like to reserve one of their donated machines or if you will bring your own. Your own scissors that cut fabric are helpful. Otherwise Sew up Seattle has plenty of supplies and equipment if you don't have your own. If you already know how to sew come join the class for the fun of sewing with others and sharing your knowledge.
This class is FREE and open to all, with limited space available so sign up early.

By the way, anyone looking for a cabinet sewing machine, get in touch. There are three at Goods for the Planet. They each need a good tune-up but seem to be capable of providing years of sewing. They came from Grace Lutheran Church missionary sewing projects. The machines are free although any donation to Grace Lutheran Church, in appreciation of the machine, is greatly appreciated.
